Who: Harry Potter and YOU
What: Harry's first day in Haven and he might need some assistance
Were: All Over
When: His First Day
{ Harry Potter and the New Guardian }
Harry had to say that he was finding himself in more and increasingly unlikely scenarios. He's not sure how he ended up on the wrong train going to the wrong place but he somehow did. At least the people on the train weren't too upset about his randomly appearing on it. Had he somehow apparated without meaning too? He knew there was a part of him that sort of didn't want to return to Hogwarts this year after everything that had happened but he didn't really give a whole lot of serious thought into NOT going back. At the end of the day he really did love being at Hogwarts.
He's bustled off the train that is decidedly NOT the Hogwarts express and over to an information both. He's confused and a little a dazed after his whole ordeal but the information desk is not to blame for that so he tries to be as polite as he can. He trips over much of his explanation with a lot of 'Ers and ums' which he apologized for but if anything the man in charge of the booth just seemed amused and at the end of it Harry had an information packet and a box of butterbeer cookies which he should question but he didn't. He was then asked to sit at the Bench and wait for his Guardian to pick him up.
Harry nearly visibly winced at the idea as his mind immediately jumped to the Dursleys who likely weren't feeling so kindly towards him after that fake contest they'd been told they won. What was a harmless bit of fun to the wizarding world was probably going to cost Harry dearly and he was not really looking forward to it. Not to mention they'd be pissed about how far they'd have to travel to come get him but a brief overview of the information packet and Harry's convinced himself that it's not the Dursley's because it might be possible they can't reach him here.
{ Harry Potter and the Brisk Walk Around Town }
He's starting to think maybe he's a little out of touch with the muggle realm of technology because he's supposed to believe that this plastic square in his hand has the capability to function as a phone, and video recorder, a mailing device and a gaming device and it's not even plugged into a single thing. It probably runs on electricity but it's hard to imagine it's not magic with all the things this little device can supposedly do.
It also doesn't seem to have too much trouble with being around a magical being-he'd heard from Hermione that if there's too much magic in one area it tends to short out electronics. Still, he can't deny it's a pretty neat little thing. Dudley would probably kill to get one and Harry's not sure if that thoughts an exaggeration or not. There was no telling with his cousin. His mind wonders back to that night and he finds himself wondering about how his cousin is after that Ordeal-did he even really know what had happened? He hadn't much of a chance to talk to Dudley not that he was complaining.
He he shuts the screen off and pockets the device before deciding to go on a quick walk to really think about the situation. Whoever had sent him here had the decency to send him off with his wand so he'd have to thank them for that-although he's not too sure he should even be using it considering what happened over the summer.
He starts off with no clear direction in mind and just moves his feet as he'd often do back at Private Drive. He's not wearing his robes at the moment so the clothes he's in look obviously too large for a scrawny fifteen year old and starts to feel a little self conscious the moment he notices someone staring-he's not sure if it's because of this or not but he thinks he must look a little odd, all pale and scrawny like he is. He's started to gain some of his weight back it wasn't that easy when you'd been half starved the majority of the summer. Maybe he should look into getting clothes that aren't robes or his cousin's hand-me-downs.

Oh, hi, kiddo.
So she makes a stop. She gets some sandwiches from one of the vendors in the market. Nothing exciting. Just meat and cheese on a rather tasty roll. And she grabs a couple sodas, too. Figuring it'd be easier to talk outside before taking him home.
But she does arrive at Jerry's booth soon and Harry's pointed out. Evie heads over with her friendliest of smiles, waving some to get his attention before speaking.
"Hi. Are you Harry? I'm Evie. Jerry called me about you."
Re: Oh, hi, kiddo.
"Yes, I'm Harry Potter. It's nice to meet you." He offers, quickly standing up to greet her. "I was just going through the brochure." He explained, though honestly he's still extremely confused by it all. He also wonders how the wizarding world is fairing now that he'd disappeared right off the Hogwarts Express.

"That brochure isn't the most informative, is it? Sort of reads like an ad for a hotel that you may or may not enjoy."
It's fine. Evie's been in this universe long enough to be very aware that, should she sit and write a brochure, she'd never get up again.
"Are you hungry? I just bought some roast beef and cheddar sandwiches. At least, I think it's cheddar? That's what they said. Supplies around here tend to be limited, so it might not be the best. But the foods tasty."

"Oh er-I don't want to impose or anything and Jerry gave me some cookies, so I'm alright." He knew he was a little hungrier than he let on but call it a habit, he just didn't think he should be taking other people's food-not out of distrust but just because it didn't feel right. He briefly recalls that Mrs. Weasley ad sent them all off on the train with bagged lunches but his didn't seem to have made the trip.
"Is it normal for people to just.. turn up here? Randomly, no matter what they'd been doing previously?"
no subject
"People appear often. Roughly the same way. And this place likes to change entirely. I'm not sure if it's magic, or if we're bouncing through the multiverse, but it's definitely something." Evie tilts her head a bit towards the road, smiling at Harry more.
"Let's head back to my castle. You can have any of the available rooms. There are four of them. And anything in the fridge is yours. I cook a lot. And sew a lot, so if you need clothes repaired or want an entirely new outfit, I promise it won't be any kind of imposition. It's what I do for a living and as a hobby."
no subject
"So is magic er... is it common? Here I mean?" He's not about to break the secrecy laws until he knows they're no longer in place. It'd be a relief though to be able to freely use magic and not have to worry about getting expelled. However, as nice as it all sounds he's still wary. Anything in the Fridge? Clothes, food? He knows he shouldn't but he's still suspicious and he'll err on the side of caution for a while.

"I use magic all the time, and no one blinks. I know a lot of the people here have abilities, and no one seems bothered." A tilt of her head, looking at him with a look of curiosity on her face.
"Why?"
no subject
"Oh, well. Then I should tell you-I'm actually a wizard-I was actually on my way to school specifically for magical people when I turned up here."
Brisk Walk Around Town
And after another few minutes, Miles comes jogging towards him as well.
"O'Malley! Would you stop that, you're gonna freak people out." The cat simply meows in response, and Miles shakes his head before turning to Harry. "Sorry about that. I can't tell anymore when he's gonna be fine with being out or not. I guess today is a 'it's too hot to touch the ground' kinda day."
no subject
"Ouch! hey!" he exclaims as the cat finds its way to his shoulder. he likes animals as much as the next person but claws tend to hurt. Still, better this little guy than something like a blast ended skrewt.
Then someone runs up to claim the cat-O'Malley apparently is its name. "It's fine, really. As hot as it is can't really blame him-he doesn't have the advantage of shoes." he comments. "I'm harry."

The cat seems to contemplate whether he's going to stick with Harry for a while, before finally leaping off him and onto Miles' shoulders, then slipping into the backpack.
Slipping the pack over his shoulders, he then looks back at Harry. "Are you a new arrival?"
no subject
"This place is loads different than where I'm from though-it's quite something." Better or worse well... he supposed remains to be seen.

"have you met her?" He chances asking.
