OPEN - Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
Who: Tyrone (Ty) Johnson & OTA
Where: City Groove Music Store and the Metroplex
When: Current
What: Catch all
Warnings: Nothing to start but will update.
City Groove Music Store
“Welcome to City Groove Music Store,” he’d greet every customer at the sound of the front door opening. As the cashier, Ty is usually found with headphones hanging around his neck while in the store. He doesn’t always stand behind the register but also in the aisles straightening merchandise or finding something to play next. His knowledge of music isn’t tremendously extensive but he would still be happy to help anyone that needed it.
The Metroplex
He might be hard to recognize without his hoodie on but it would be hanging up somewhere nearby as he practiced shooting hoops or tried to get in on a pickup game (basketball). Ty would likely be in a tshirt with the sleeves cut off and basketball shorts, wearing a pair of basketball sneakers.
It’s rare to find him without Tandy but after so much together during the glitching, it seemed only right to give her some space.
Tyrone is somewhat shy, opting to return conversation than initiate it. However, he isn’t so shy that he wouldn’t come to the aid of anyone who might need it. …That includes a wayward basketball given the difference in gravity. He doesn’t actually need his hoodie to teleport and will do so to stop a ball from hurting someone.
He’d be in t-shirt, jeans and a more bootlike shoe with his hoodie when playing at the arcade. Ty isn’t big into shooter games but would try his hand at some of the classics like Centipede if around or the fighting games like Tekken or Street Fighter.
Between the above locations and home
Usually Tyrone would teleport where he wants to go but if he’s used his power too much, he’d give it a break and walk. Find him on the way home or between any of the above locations.

Metroplex
It was also a good way to notice other people and to talk to them like he did with the kid who was hanging around, possibly looking for someone to play with. At least, Nick was taking it that way.
"Hey, want to play a bit?" He asked as he drew closer, holding a basketball.

"Sure! One on one or Horse?" he replied to the man with a friendly grin.

"How do we decide who shoots first?"

City Groove
Until he hits an ankle, and he winces, embarrassed. "Apologies. Ah, could you tell me what section of the store I'm in? I was looking for some jazz, maybe."

He gave the man his usual greeting without realizing who he was. Not that Ty immediately recognized him from his home world but he should have from the recent network post.
The register counter blocked his view of the cane being used by the man or he might've asked if he needed assistance before being asked.
"You're in the instrumental section," Tyrone answered and walked up after quickly closing the book he'd been reading. "Orchestra's the next section then big band then jazz."
He frowned, realizing he should've taken a closer look as to why the man wore sunglasses inside the store. "I'm Tyrone."

"If I remember correctly, I shoot from here, right?" He moved to the free-throw line, glancing to Ty for confirmation before bouncing the ball once or twice just to get the feel for it. Then he did a little jump as he took his shot, looking relieved when it went in.

Really, he could've started from any point but seemed comfortable at the free throw line so Ty went with it. He quickly went to retrieve the ball, having to adjust with the difference in gravity.
"Good shot," he encouraged his opponent then took his place at the free-throw line. Ty also made the shot and held a wide smile when he did.

Moving to the side, he watched as Ty took his spot and made the shot. "Nice one."
Jogging after the ball, he scooped it up and made his way back to where he had been standing before though he went a foot or so to the left. He was pleased when he made the shot again though it looked like it could have easily bounced out when it hit the rim.

"I might not be tall but I've been a shooting guard for almost four years with my school," he confessed after the compliment from Nick on his shot.
However, it seemed Nick could hold his own, sinking in another shot. "Looks like you've played too." Ty grinned and gathered the ball then dribbled over to where Nick had stood for his shot.

"A little," He admitted once he had taken his shot, pleased that he was holding on this long. "I was on the team back in high school and I played sometimes for fun with some of the guys I've worked with but it's been a while."
It was kind of nice to get back to it though.
"Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking."

The offer was genuine and no different in cadence as his response to meeting Matthew. Yet the question about jazz music received a hesitant answer. Ty would never think of jazz the same after dealing with Andre Deschaine, who played the style of music only to use the despair of others to feed off.
"Not a fan, sorry. I'm familiar with a few musicians though."

Apparently Nick hadn't played in a while either but looked good on the floor, even with the difference in gravity. Or maybe it was that difference that helped? Ty wasn't sure. It was just nice to have someone who wanted to play.
"I'm from New Orleans. My girl and I were actually leaving when we ended up here. ...How about you?"
Ty had said 'New Orleans' like a native (New Or-lens instead of New Or-leans) but without the southern drawl (Naw-linds).

He wasn't sure either if the shift in gravity made it easy or not but it definitely made things interesting. He continued to smile as he bounced the ball lightly in Ty's direction, listening as the younger man continued to speak.
"I'm from Portland," He answered, not really wanting to think about what had been happening before his arrival but he could gloss over that. "Where were you and your girl heading? Were you heading off to college?"
