School Daze (for the teens of driftcrest)

Who: Literally every school aged kid in town.
What: It's a damn school day.
When: April 20th
Where: Driftcrest High
Warnings:Teenagers Swearing, probably. Mentions of bullying in threads. Will add warnings if needed.

Welcome to Driftcrest High, where not only do kids get a traditional education, but there's an entire wing dedicated to the arts. To get there, head through the main doors and turn left. Down this wing is where the kids who are learning dance, music, and other many and varied arts go, so this hallway is always noisy. There's music, shouting, people carrying instruments. Feel free to poke around if you're curious as to what goes on in these classes. Peek in on a ballet class, stick around to listen to the surprisingly talented school band practice something, watch people in one of the painting classes work on masterpieces.

Or, if this isn't really your thing, you can turn right at the main doors and head towards a more traditional education. Science. Math. Reading. History. All of the stuff one might learn in a regular public school. There's emphasis on STEM classes, sure, but the teachers are very patient with people. Unless there's bullying. They'll have none of that, thank you very much.

If you're wondering if these two wings have a common area: yes. It's the large cafeteria and auditorium, right dead center of the two wings and just beyond the main offices and library. Everyone gathers here at lunch time, and the food isn't your common cafeteria food. The meals are filling and highly nutritious and pretty damn tasty, too, cooked by people who actually care about feeding teenagers properly. There's vending machines to get sodas and all, too.

So, what's your day at school look like? Are you a full time in-person student? Do you prefer to hybrid your days and only come into the building a couple days a week? What hallway do you spend the most time in when you're here? If you even come in at all.

This is a gathering-style post for the teenagers of Driftcrest. Come make some friends. Side eye teachers. Flirt in the hallways or watch what the arts wing is up to. Post a top-level and/or tag around. Make this a memorable school day, yeah?

School. Of course there was school here. Of course he was still expected to go, even though they were in a literal pocket dimension. Who knew what the time scale was like between here and home, and the last thing he was going to do was let his friends graduate without him.

So there he was, scowling at pretty much everything as he went to classes, taking a seat and dragging out a textbook. He leaned over to whoever sat next to him, and did his standard test for who was and wasn't a 'local'. "What's with this place, man? Super weird, right? And I thought Beacon Hills was weird," he shook his head a little.

At lunch he stops short when he gets a look at the food. "Oh, so this is a rich pocket dimension," he murmured, and let out a sigh, getting in line and hoping they had like, a peanut butter and jelly or something.

"Yeah, I'd say the whole kidnapping thing isn't on my top ten list of fun things," he agreed with a sigh. The ice statue thing had him doing an actual double-take, though.

"Ice statue?" He repeated, and turned his whole body to face her, completely ignoring the teacher at the front of the class, and leaned in. "What the hell turns people into ice statues? Like a cold-weather Gorgon or something?" Of course there was some kind of threatening monster. When had he ever gone somewhere and not had his life threatened by something supernatural in the last few years?

He completely skipped over the whole 'this place changes overnight' thing. He'd remember it later when least convenient. Probably.

Despite how absolute full-tilt Eichen House nuts that all sounded, Stiles bought into it hook, line, and sinker. His gaze drifted to her scar, only to give the teacher a shameless smile when he heard the throat clearing, even giving her a little waive. "Uh... sorry?" He didn't look the least bit sorry.

When the teacher was ignoring them again, his full attention went back to Gwen. "I don't suppose anybody got pictures of any of this stuff? Or wrote it all down somewhere? These Unseen things seem pretty gnarly," and he knew gnarly. He needed to get these things entered into the bestiary before they showed up in Beacon Hills.

Assuming he ever made it back there.

Honestly, it's just nice to not be immediately discounted for Stiles. He's used to being written off by everyone not somehow associated with Scott.

He listened intently to her, nodding, and completely ignoring everything but their conversation... until Gwen turned to look at the teacher. He offered a remorseless grin to the teacher. "Sorry!" He didn't sound it one bit, but he turned towards the front of the class to at least pretend he was paying attention.

"You said size of a German Shepherd... what about shape?" he asked under his breath, and flashed her another grin. "Stiles Stilinski, and I will totally talk to you whenever you want." He wasn't trying to be creepy, but sometimes his word choices were sure... choices.

While science wasn't entirely his focus, Miles did find a lot of sciences interesting. It might not seem like it, though, with all the sketches and designs he doodled in every spare space of paper that didn't have notes. But drawing did help him focus...as long as he wasn't listening to music.

He looked over when the person next to him spoke up, and he couldn't help a slight grin. "Definitely weird," he agreed, sparing a quick glance over towards the teacher to make sure they weren't paying attention to the two of them. "I'm guessing you're a new arrival."

Stiles grinned right back. "What gave me away?" he asked cheerfully. "The empty notebooks, complete lack of preparedness, or wide-eyed terror at yet again being kidnapped?" He might have looked bright and cheerful, but he was more than a little freaked out.

"All of the above?" he replied. While he was also keeping his tone light, the other teen's words had him curious. "This kind of thing happen to you before?"
