School Daze (for the teens of driftcrest)
Who: Literally every school aged kid in town.
What: It's a damn school day.
When: April 20th
Where: Driftcrest High
Warnings:Teenagers Swearing, probably. Mentions of bullying in threads. Will add warnings if needed.
Welcome to Driftcrest High, where not only do kids get a traditional education, but there's an entire wing dedicated to the arts. To get there, head through the main doors and turn left. Down this wing is where the kids who are learning dance, music, and other many and varied arts go, so this hallway is always noisy. There's music, shouting, people carrying instruments. Feel free to poke around if you're curious as to what goes on in these classes. Peek in on a ballet class, stick around to listen to the surprisingly talented school band practice something, watch people in one of the painting classes work on masterpieces.
Or, if this isn't really your thing, you can turn right at the main doors and head towards a more traditional education. Science. Math. Reading. History. All of the stuff one might learn in a regular public school. There's emphasis on STEM classes, sure, but the teachers are very patient with people. Unless there's bullying. They'll have none of that, thank you very much.
If you're wondering if these two wings have a common area: yes. It's the large cafeteria and auditorium, right dead center of the two wings and just beyond the main offices and library. Everyone gathers here at lunch time, and the food isn't your common cafeteria food. The meals are filling and highly nutritious and pretty damn tasty, too, cooked by people who actually care about feeding teenagers properly. There's vending machines to get sodas and all, too.
So, what's your day at school look like? Are you a full time in-person student? Do you prefer to hybrid your days and only come into the building a couple days a week? What hallway do you spend the most time in when you're here? If you even come in at all.
This is a gathering-style post for the teenagers of Driftcrest. Come make some friends. Side eye teachers. Flirt in the hallways or watch what the arts wing is up to. Post a top-level and/or tag around. Make this a memorable school day, yeah?

Miles Morales - OTA
Miles was still a little disappointed that spray paints weren't allowed during class, barring special occasions, but he's learned to deal with it. A lot of his art would start out as a rough design in notebooks anyway, and markers were his preferred choice to get the color concept down. Luckily the art program at Driftcrest encouraged art of all kinds, meaning he had access to a large array of marker choices to play around with, as well as paper bigger than a notebook to experiment with shapes and words and negative space.
He was also glad that the art room was large, and that the teacher didn't mind him pinning up his concept art on the wall, to see how the colors and designs might look. Of course the sketches were still smaller than what he would actually tag on a wall, but the larger size of the paper still made it easier to observe the design from a distance, and seeing the images gave him a better idea of how it might appear, in case he needed to make changes to the design before finalizing it.
Lunch
Miles didn't usually mind eating in the cafeteria during lunch. While he wasn't super close to people other than Gwen, he did actually have a few casual friend groups that he could sit with, depending on who he felt like chatting with that day.
Today felt like a drifter kind of day, though, as he carried his tray with a bowl of chili mac and cheese and a turkey sandwich, wandering around the cafeteria looking for a place to sit.
Wildcard
((Feel free to run into Miles around the school; in one of your classes, in the hallway, the gym, anywhere!))
Drive-By at the Art Class and then Lunch!
And then she vanishes, heading down the hall to one of her music lessons.
Later on, she'll find him at lunch. He got the chili mac, she got the baked ziti. And she'll be taking over a spot right across from him, one leg up on the seat next to her. She's either holding the spot, or has a dance class today.
"That smells amazing. We should try to make it at home some night."

He'll have to get her next time, though.
When lunch time rolls around, he settled at an empty table, just a few seconds before Gwen took a seat across from him.
"I know, right?" he asked with a grin. "I'm definitely down to making it. I've got class with some of the culinary students later, so I'm gonna see if I can snag a recipe from one of them."

That's a fun power to think of. "Precognitive baking. I dig it."
Okay, now she's just full of shit. Dropping her backpack on the ground at her feet, she looks around for a moment and then back to Miles.
"I feel really weird being here on a Tuesday. Like...this is kind of throwing me a bit." Wednesdays, Thursdays and the occasional Fridays are the only days she sets foot in the building. She did this one to herself by voluntarily coming in.

Just to see if she had any resemblance to Jerry, of course.
Taking a bite of his mac and cheese, he chews thoughtfully for a moment before answering, "Yeah, I was kinda surprised you said you were coming in today."

"I missed a lot," Gwen says, stretching her arms over her head for a moment with a small sigh. "I could hear my dad and the Aunt May we both know encouraging me to get caught up as best as I can."
