Welcome to Haven:
What: It's moving day for everyone.
Where: Haven MagLev Train/Haven Train Station and then Jerry's Info Booth for the Newbies.
When: 04/28 - Morning
Warnings: There will be swearing, probably mentions of violence. Will update as needed.
This FluxOver starts a lot differently than the others. For starters, everyone and we mean everyone is waking up on a train. No one's waking up in their homes. The first sound anyone hears isn't an alarm clock. It's the steady hum and squeal of the MagLev train just barely skimming it's rails as it makes a turn towards the Haven Train Station and then a deep, gravely, lightly accented male voice saying:
"Haven Train Station! Last stop! Everyone off!
And then the grinding of brakes as the train slows down to a bit of a harsh stop. With so many people stuffed into the train like sardines, it's probably hot and crowded, and everyone wants off. It's also very likely you're going to wake up leaning on someone. Do you know them? Are they a stranger? Let's hope you didn't drool while you were sleeping, or snore too loudly.
When the doors open, the heat probably gets a bit worse and the crowd is very eager to get off the train. Jostling and bumping, it seems as though no one cares who they smack into, they just want off. Since it's the last stop, it's probably best you depart, too. Should you choose to stick on the train, you'll find that while it does depart the Haven Train Station eventually, it just goes through a foggy area that seems to lead right back to the Haven Train Station. It'll keep doing so until you depart the train. Once the last person is off, the train will roll away and disappear in the distance.
For all the newcomers, you'll feel an impulse to go right to the very ramshackle-looking information booth, where a gentleman named Jerry has your information packet. For everyone else, your phones will start buzzing and a voice will start giving you directions, leading you back home and we're sorry to say it, but your homes have taken on the external appearance of everything else around them. Pieced together, rusty. Built more for survival and less for visual appeal.
Again; externally. Internally, you'll find that nothings changed and home is just as you remember it. And for anyone that got anything for FluxMas, you'll find your stuff waiting for you in the kitchen of your homes. Unless it's a vehicle. You'll find the keys to that in your pockets, shortly after stepping into your houses.
Settle in. Explore. Find your friends.

She sits on the sofa as he goes to get his kit. "It's really okay. I have a kit as well. Cleaned it up best I could and I'm not bad at stitching. I do it all the time." Although she sounds a little too tired to make it sound convincing.
no subject
"Besides, you said you were stung. What if those creatures are poisonous?"
no subject
"I hadn't thought of that. I don't feel sick."
no subject
"Where I come from, there are fiends with all kinds of toxins. Some of them burn you up from the inside. Others just put you into a sleep you can't wake up from without an antidote." He spoke as he checked over her wound. "We've never been to this reality before. You can't be too careful." Evidently satisfied with the appearance of her arm, though, he nods and stands. "But I think you're okay."
no subject
She sits quietly as he examines her arm and when he appears to be finished, she gives him another smile. "Thanks, coach."
no subject
He inclines his head, but whether it's an unspoken 'you're welcome' or identifying himself as one of the good ones is up in the air. "It's actually a lot like this place." Being Haven. "It's spooky. I was planning on finding the bar to see what the locals have to say about it. You feeling up to it?"
no subject
"There's a bar?" That perks her up. "Hell, yeah. Let's go!"
no subject
"A huge collection of people who are hot and live in shipping containers? If they don't unwind at the end of the night with a strong drink, I don't think I want to know 'em." He grinned. "I haven't found it yet, but I'm sure it's around here. And," he pulled a set of keys out of his pocket. "We have a ride, as long as you don't mind double dutching a bike."
no subject
"Sure! I don't mind." She's walked here from town, so any chance to stay off her feet for the rest of the night is golden to her.
no subject
"Awesome. Let me grab my piece and we can roll out." They weren't exactly dressed for a night out, at least not top-side back home, but it suited this Haven place well enough. If it weren't for the phones, they'd fit right in.
no subject
"All right." Helix stands and stretches her arm out a little, making sure it isn't going to hinder any activity that might come up. She's got a great left hook. "Let's go."
no subject
"Copy." He moved to the door and headed out. He's a nice guy and all, but nice manners like opening doors for girls is sort of beyond him. "Should we take the scenic route, see where everything is?"
no subject
When he returns, she's ready to go. "Hey, whatever you want. I'm just the passenger here."
no subject
"Damn right. Let's roll."
And he headed outside, where the bike was parked. He took a seat and patted the faux leather behind him. "Hop on."
no subject
"Let's fly!"
no subject
"So, what do you make of this place so far?" Their faces were close enough to afford conversation, at least at the speeds they could achieve in the city itself.
no subject
She thinks a bit more before saying anything else. Sure there are creatures out in the darkness, but in town? It seems relatively safe except for the mood the people are in. There has to be something more. "I can't put my finger on it, but I have a bad feeling about this place."
no subject
Which meant the tracks probably help answers, mist or no. "Nobody chooses to live like this. Whoever's in charge is probably worth that bad feeling."
no subject
"You think someone runs this place? Any ideas?"
no subject
Or a lot of someones.
"Someone has to. The train comes from somewhere, and it returns somewhere. There aren't any power plants or reactors here, but they have power. The only thing that's not connecting for me is...nobody here seems to leave on that train. It came here, it dropped us and a lot of other people off, and then it left. Nobody gets on to head to work somewhere else and come back to Haven. It's...weird."
no subject
"We should try it some time. Get on the train and see where it goes."
no subject
"I was thinking something a little more adventurous." He smiles, even. Because as dangerous as it was, running perpendicular to the status quo, he had to admit...sometimes it was rush. "When you were a kid, did you ever live near railroads?"
no subject
"Not that I'm aware of." Sounding casual on the back of a bike is an easy thing. "I'm up for an adventure."
no subject
"So, instead of getting on, I say we put together some supplies, maybe some extra weapons to deal with the monsters out there, and follow the tracks."
no subject
"Well, we can't get too lost that way, can we. It'll be fun."
