Welcome to Haven:

What: It's moving day for everyone.
Where: Haven MagLev Train/Haven Train Station and then Jerry's Info Booth for the Newbies.
When: 04/28 - Morning
Warnings: There will be swearing, probably mentions of violence. Will update as needed.

This FluxOver starts a lot differently than the others. For starters, everyone and we mean everyone is waking up on a train. No one's waking up in their homes. The first sound anyone hears isn't an alarm clock. It's the steady hum and squeal of the MagLev train just barely skimming it's rails as it makes a turn towards the Haven Train Station and then a deep, gravely, lightly accented male voice saying:

"Haven Train Station! Last stop! Everyone off!

And then the grinding of brakes as the train slows down to a bit of a harsh stop. With so many people stuffed into the train like sardines, it's probably hot and crowded, and everyone wants off. It's also very likely you're going to wake up leaning on someone. Do you know them? Are they a stranger? Let's hope you didn't drool while you were sleeping, or snore too loudly.

When the doors open, the heat probably gets a bit worse and the crowd is very eager to get off the train. Jostling and bumping, it seems as though no one cares who they smack into, they just want off. Since it's the last stop, it's probably best you depart, too. Should you choose to stick on the train, you'll find that while it does depart the Haven Train Station eventually, it just goes through a foggy area that seems to lead right back to the Haven Train Station. It'll keep doing so until you depart the train. Once the last person is off, the train will roll away and disappear in the distance.

For all the newcomers, you'll feel an impulse to go right to the very ramshackle-looking information booth, where a gentleman named Jerry has your information packet. For everyone else, your phones will start buzzing and a voice will start giving you directions, leading you back home and we're sorry to say it, but your homes have taken on the external appearance of everything else around them. Pieced together, rusty. Built more for survival and less for visual appeal.

Again; externally. Internally, you'll find that nothings changed and home is just as you remember it. And for anyone that got anything for FluxMas, you'll find your stuff waiting for you in the kitchen of your homes. Unless it's a vehicle. You'll find the keys to that in your pockets, shortly after stepping into your houses.

Settle in. Explore. Find your friends.

Welcome to Haven.

Waking Up and Getting OUT | OTA
Leaning against the wall of the train as it was slowing, his entire body jerked to alertness at once. He didn’t identify the announcement for what it was at first. He was gasping as he started awake, hands moving frantically to his throat as he gulped down deep gasps of air. Where was he? The pain of his crushed windpipe was a phantom thing, fading even as he began to take in the details around him. He became aware of the press of warm bodies around him as they began to move, hastened into lethargic motion by the disembodied voice that echoed forth again:

"Haven Train Station! Last stop! Everyone off!”

Train? What in all the Nine Realms…?

He reached for the nearest person, hand on their shoulder in the closeness. “You there. Explain.” It was something between a command and a request, and the tone suggested a man who was used to being obeyed when he chose. “What is this place and how have we come here?”

The Welcome Center | OTA
Having made it free from the press of bodies in the train station, he’s glad for the relative freedom of the streets, hot as it is. His style of dress made him stand out in a crowd in this place, and while he and his clothing were soiled from a recent heavy battle, he walked with purpose as he approached the man in the booth. Out of place though the gentleman appeared, his recent foray on Sakaar illustrated to the frost giant with the propensity for shapeshifting just how deceptive appearances could be.

He had the presence of mind to look down at his belt when prompted and his haughtily raised chin at the indecency of all this lowered with his brows in confusion at what he found there. He looked back up to the man, blinked at the green macaroons with gold-colored filling, and after a moment’s hesitation, inclined his head as he took the offered platter.

“A tawdry welcome, but you have my thanks.” He appreciated the man’s aesthetic, okay? It was an awful lot of cookies, though. Hopefully, they’d keep.

Waking Up.

Peter's not paying close attention to his surroundings as he's also not sure where they are. When he feels Loki grip his shoulder he squawks loudly and turns to face him. His eyes go wide as recognition hits and he starts to stumble backwards.

"Uh-I-I don't know. I just woke up and I'm just as confused as you." he voices. "Um, I'm Peter. Parker." He introduces himself. "I'm-I'm from new york." And very, very awkward. Why Would Loki care about that? Also, where did MJ go?

"Sorry, It's just it's kinda-well not kinda-it's really cool meet you so I'm a little rambly."

Loki blinked, tilting his head back as he more closely examined the boy, waiting for some moment of recognition. When none came he shook his head. No, he'd never seen the boy or heard his name before.

Oh yes. New York. And he was pleased to meet him. That's unexpected.

"It seems you know of me, Peter Parker." Being from New York, it couldn't be a glowing recognition. "Yes, charmed, I'm sure. I'd be glad to fulfill whatever fantasies you may have at our meeting after this matter is solved. Have you ever heard of this 'Haven'?"

Sure, Loki's considered a threat to Earth but they're not exactly on Earth and he's still cool. Just maybe a little too extra but Ned would still be so very jealous.

"Uh... I have not, no. I was in some city before this-not New York. Wechester or something like that. I was just getting used to that place too. But uh, objectively speaking, I'm of absolutely no use in regards to information about this place. Except that I'm pretty sure this train's in better shape than some of the subways in NYC-not that, that's helpful."

It was no lie Loki was 'extra', and he wouldn't even deny it. There was little point in doing anything if it meant there was no glory in it or some way to be demonstrative. It was just who he was. If he were to unpack that, probably with the help of a therapist, it would probably be traced back to some sort of inferiority complex, but that sort of thing didn't need examining, did it? Not at all.

"Splendid." Though there was a note of defeat in his voice. Many on the train, at least those in their near vicinity, seemed just as lost and out of sorts as the rest of them.

And then the train ground to a stop and the sudden sway nearly caught him off guard. "Well, I suppose we'll have our answers soon enough, won't we?" There was a veritable tide of people moving to the opened doors and they both had little choice in whether or not they exited.

"Yeah, I guess." Peter glances over where people are all shuffling off the train. It's not too different from the subway back home except he's been dropped off on what looks like some kind of post apocalyptic hell scape. The last few weeks have just been so, so weird.

"Uh, I haven't seen anyone that I know so can I just-I don't know...hang around you for a bit?"

Loki for his part can't actually say the last time he'd been forced to travel by public transport. Never, he was certain of it, and would be glad never to do so again, thank you. The press of bodies, the smells...ugh. Being freed from the train itself offers little reprieve either, as the twin suns glare down upon them.

He squinted into the light, looking around. "This place really is a trash heap." It is spoken more to himself than the young man tagging along in his wake, though and he blinks at Peters request, not sure he's heard him properly. "What?" Why in Heaven's name would the boy want to follow him around?
babyavenger: (what was that?)

[personal profile] babyavenger 2021-05-08 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Peter tenses up slightly, his shoulders tightening and lips in a thin line. "I don't know where my guardian person is, I don't want to talk to a social worker and everyone kinda looks like they want to stab me."

Of course, Loki could possibly want to stab him too, but then he could at least Tell Ned that he got stabbed by Loki. Which sounds way cooler than 'I got stabbed by some rando on the subway.'

To his credit, Loki really only goes about stabbing people if they had it coming, though 'having it coming' could constitute simply being his brother, but that had little impact on the current conversation.

He glowered at the boy for a moment, frowning before breathing a sigh. He could only summon his daggers if he knew where they were, and at the moment he had no Earthly or Heavenly clue where to begin. "Fine. We'll help one another. You've been in a similar situation before, yes? Tell me what you know of it."
