Welcome to Haven:

What: It's moving day for everyone.
Where: Haven MagLev Train/Haven Train Station and then Jerry's Info Booth for the Newbies.
When: 04/28 - Morning
Warnings: There will be swearing, probably mentions of violence. Will update as needed.

This FluxOver starts a lot differently than the others. For starters, everyone and we mean everyone is waking up on a train. No one's waking up in their homes. The first sound anyone hears isn't an alarm clock. It's the steady hum and squeal of the MagLev train just barely skimming it's rails as it makes a turn towards the Haven Train Station and then a deep, gravely, lightly accented male voice saying:

"Haven Train Station! Last stop! Everyone off!

And then the grinding of brakes as the train slows down to a bit of a harsh stop. With so many people stuffed into the train like sardines, it's probably hot and crowded, and everyone wants off. It's also very likely you're going to wake up leaning on someone. Do you know them? Are they a stranger? Let's hope you didn't drool while you were sleeping, or snore too loudly.

When the doors open, the heat probably gets a bit worse and the crowd is very eager to get off the train. Jostling and bumping, it seems as though no one cares who they smack into, they just want off. Since it's the last stop, it's probably best you depart, too. Should you choose to stick on the train, you'll find that while it does depart the Haven Train Station eventually, it just goes through a foggy area that seems to lead right back to the Haven Train Station. It'll keep doing so until you depart the train. Once the last person is off, the train will roll away and disappear in the distance.

For all the newcomers, you'll feel an impulse to go right to the very ramshackle-looking information booth, where a gentleman named Jerry has your information packet. For everyone else, your phones will start buzzing and a voice will start giving you directions, leading you back home and we're sorry to say it, but your homes have taken on the external appearance of everything else around them. Pieced together, rusty. Built more for survival and less for visual appeal.

Again; externally. Internally, you'll find that nothings changed and home is just as you remember it. And for anyone that got anything for FluxMas, you'll find your stuff waiting for you in the kitchen of your homes. Unless it's a vehicle. You'll find the keys to that in your pockets, shortly after stepping into your houses.

Settle in. Explore. Find your friends.

"I'm good at reading people," he gave her a smile, though his blink made it clear he didn't quite understand the significance of her admission.

"I'm afraid I have no idea what a 'mutant' is, at least not in the specific way you clearly intend."

"It's complicated but basically a species of humans with special powers," she replied with a tilt of her head, it was kinda weird that he hadn't heard of mutants. Super weird actually and kind of concerning. "Your world doesn't have anything like that?" She'd gotten the impression things were different, but that was a lot more surprising than she'd expected.

"Yes, thoroughly complicated. Perhaps you should slow down." That sarcasm was evident as he spoke, though her question brought forth a shrug. "None I've heard of, though the Earth I know seems rather keen to make its own monsters. There is a man by the name of Banner who becomes a green beast of rage when angered."

"That's as slow as I can take it, if you can't keep up well..." she smirked. It wasn't really something she wanted to spend too much time trying to explain and, well, her description seemed good enough to her. "I guess that's on you. It's a good enough description to describe most of them. There are some that get powers from other places, but that's more rare." She was among those, but she wasn't fully sure if she wanted to admit that just yet.

Her expression made it obvious she recognized something about what he said. "Oh, the Hulk? Except the one I know of is kind of more of a gross grey color."

"The moron he becomes does come himself that, yes." He wondered idly if Banner would be more or less tolerable if he were a disgusting gray color before ultimately deciding he'd rather not know. Learning would require Banner's presence and he'd rather not, thank you.

"You know of Doctor Banner?"

"Not too much. Honestly, the Ultimates and the X-Men don't get along that great. We work together sometimes but..." she shrugged. "Fury likes to police things and Stark can just be annoying. Maybe we just have different goals. How do you get along with the Hulk in your world?" She's going to guess not well.

"The Ultimates?" He laughs at that, shaking his head. "Heavens, I thought 'Avengers' was trite, but Ultimates? How hideously pretentious." And he should know, being so skilled at pretention himself.

"Fury and Stark, at least, vary little between our worlds, it seems." He clears his throat, putting on an air superiority which completely illustrates how much he's belittling the subject. "Banner and I have had our differences, but have recently reconciled when he assisted in saving the people of Asgard."

"Both sound equally bad to me," she said with a little smirk. "I take it you'd have a better name?" She narrowed her eyes and shook her head.

"Differences, huh? Well, sounds like it worked out if you were able to put them aside to save Asgard."

"Heavens no, I have better things to do with my time than name groups of superheroes. I've simply always wondered what it is they go about 'avenging'."

He smiles at that, bemused. "More like he wanted free of the planet Sakaar as much as the rest of them and we gave him something to smash."

"Do you now?" Somehow she really kind of doubted that. For some reason he gave off the impression that he'd actually enjoy getting to name something after himself. Maybe she was being too harsh though. "You know, that's actually a good question. Shouldn't heroes be teaching that avenging things can be bad?" Wasn't seeking out revenge and stuff like that a bad thing?

"What was so bad about Sakaar?"

"Yes, though I really ought to take the duty from Thor every now and then. He called us the Revengers, for Heaven's sake." He shook his head because a pang of regret came with that memory. He may never see his brother again and that pained him more than he cared to voice.

"Honestly, there was very little wrong with Sakaar. It was a lawless place and I was well on my way to securing a lasting position near the top of the pile, but Asgard was doomed if we were to stay and Thor's hopeless without me."

"Is that even a word?" she was pretty sure that was not in fact an actual word. "It sounds like he was just trying to adapt Avengers somehow." In some really bad way.

"It almost sounds like you would have preferred to stay?"

"No, though I'm sure if you were to ask him, he would have a different answer." Something along the lines of 'it is now' or something equally moronic. He loved his brother dearly, over the years, Thor had been the closest thing he'd ever had to a friend, but the gods knew he could be thick-headed. "He is rather obsessed with his 'work friends'."

He shrugged. "The place had a lot of promise, even if its ruler and creator were thoroughly mad. He wasn't unreasonable and he liked me." At least until Loki had tried and failed to trick him. He'd quickly fallen out of the Grandmaster's favor then, but he could have made it work.

"Wait, does he really refer to his team as his work friends?" A tiny weird laugh accompanies the question. For some reason she'd never really thought of looking at the X-Men as work friends. They were more like a weird dysfunctional family. Extremely dysfunctional.

"You know," she raised a finger up. "I'm not sure if it says anything good that you're saying a guy that was mad liked you."

"Yes, though I also doubt he considers most of the Earth heroes 'friends'. Perhaps that has changed, though. His actually friends are all dead." As harsh a statement as it was, there was a note of regret in his voice. He did feel bad for his brother in that respect, and moreover, a pang of sadness for himself. Asgard had been the only home he'd ever known, where he's grown up, and where his family had been. They were gone, and he had given his life to save what remained.

He would never see them again. He rolled his shoulder in a slight shrug. "I was a confidant, I had rooms, and was not detained in the slave quarters. You could do worse than finding the Grandmaster's good graces."

"That's...a depressing outlook. Though I kinda know how that could be." A lot of her friends had ended up dead until she'd managed to reverse time to bring them back. Not everyone was that lucky though.

She gave him an amused once over and shook her head. "Confidant to a mad man, huh? How'd you end up becoming a confidant?"

"Thor is a charismatic and boisterous comrade in arms, but that is not all that he is." He'd know the man for centuries, after all, had grown up with him. He knew that prices Thor would pay for glory, mindlessly even.

"I'm a charming and amusing party favor." There was something akin to loathing in his voice when he spoke. He never liked the Grandmaster. He was useful, a means to an end and that end was rising to the top of the trash heap that was Sakaar. "Mostly I stroked his ego and laughed at his jokes, no matter how unamusing they were."

"Yeah. I kinda got that feeling from him. That there were probably a lot of things he kept hidden behind being loud and enjoying mead." There was a weird sort of sadness that radiated from him that she couldn't help but pick up on. Maybe that had come from what he'd been trying to tell her or maybe it'd just come from a lifetime of well...shit. A lot of shit by a really shitty brother. It was weird how different this guy seemed from the guy that had tormented people in her own world. Weirdly it just made her more curious about his mind but that'd probably be a bad place to go digging in.

Party favor, huh? "So, you pretended to be less powerful than you are?" She tilted her head a little and looked him over. "And to be less important than you think you are? Must have been hard."

"Not as hard as you would think." Though he prickled at her accusation. He was a prince of Asgard, thank you, and he had tricked the King of Jotunheim himself. He was important. "The Grandmaster is a being of supreme power. He isn't one to cross lightly. I did have my preservation to consider."

Being of supreme power seemed to catch her attention a bit more than it probably should. At the very least it definitely peaked her curiosity, though she tried to look less interested than she had initially. "Do you have a lot of those? Beings of supreme power I mean. Or is the Grandmaster unique?"

"I try to avoid the company of world-devouring entities when I can, though the universe is vast beyond full understanding. I doubt he's unique. Rare, certainly, at least I hope so, but not unique." He shook his head. "Concerned?"

"Not concerned, just curious," she said with a shrug. It was a very honest answer at least and truthful. "We have a few where I'm from and I was just curious about other places. Especially since it sounds like we're from the same place but...not quite the same place."

"It stands to reason some realities would be more similar than others. I know I've heard others speaking of the 'Earths' they've come from, as though one planet is a reality in itself." He rolls a shoulder. "I wonder, as there is a me in yours, if there is a you in mine."
