Who: Evie Wayne and YOU!
What: Choose your own adventure.
When: All Day 11/20
Where: Freshway Markets, Greenway Park, Throughout the City, Outside her home.
Freshway Markets:
Evie always found it so much easier to stop at the market before work. That way she could schedule the food to be delivered when she got home and it was one less thing for her to worry about. Not to mention, there was a lovely woman with a million stories of her family that ran a stall specializing in Greek food and Evie adored her. The woman spoke only Greek, with her young daughter offering to translate. When Evie declined and started conversing with the pair in Greek with the ease of someone who'd spoken it for years, she'd made friends for life.
So now, any time Evie came to the stall, the woman had food for her for free. And sometimes recipes from home, too. Nothing bank breaking. But the free Baklava and the many recipes Evie'd gotten from the woman always made Evie's day.
With an order placed, Evie glances at her watch and smiles, noting she still has some time before she has to be at Sun and Fun, so she orders a hot chocolate from another stall, finds a spot to sit, and spends a moment eating her pastry and sipping the steamy beverage with a soft smile on her face.
Greenway Park:
Today was a significantly short day at work, so Evie was in the park, enjoying her surprise afternoon off. The three photography sessions they had scheduled were cancelled. Two of them with the reason that they weren't going to make it. And the third via a messenger. It seems as though they'd gone back to wherever they were from.
So now Evie was in Greenway park at one of the benches. She had a to-go container of seafood stir-fried rice and was eating it as she read over different papers in front of her. Upon closer inspection and one might notice they were pictures of empty stores in town, parts of the description highlighted in blue, other parts red. A running Pros and Cons list of each property on a legal pad.
Glancing down to make another note of something, Evie's distracted long enough where one of the papers is snagged by a small gust of wind. It's blown out of her reach and Evie stands to retrieve it, grabbing her other papers quickly all while keeping an eye as to where that one loose page was going.
"Shit. Hey! Grab that for me!" she shouts at someone, pointing at the runaway paper.
Window Shopping...kinda. (For Billy. Potentially open to three person threads.)
Evie's standing outside a smaller, empty shop, face pressed to the glass and hands framed around her eyes to help her peer in. It's empty, kind of dusty meaning it's been empty for a while and while it looks to be about the right size for what Evie wants, she has a couple concerns.
"I dunno, Bill," Evie says, stepping back and looking over at her friend. "I love it, don't get me wrong...but the location is sort of off. I want people to know where Evies4Hearts is and be able to get to it easily. This sort of...makes me think of restaurants that very few people know of. Entirely off the beaten path. Gotta know where to look to find it."
Looking around a moment, she points at the custom bath and bodywash store across the street, smiling.
"What do you think? Do you think being near that store might help Evies4Hearts get some business?"
Home:
Evie's home a good seven minutes before her delivery is, and she's using this window of time to talk on her phone to one of the realtors in town.
"No, I'm sorry. The property on Rydelle isn't what I was looking for....I'm--" A pause and as she goes quiet, one eyebrow raises in irritatin. "Excuse me, Mr Keystone, but I think I do in fact know what I want in a store. Something that smells like bad seafood isn't it." Another moment of quiet from her and she blinks in surprise. "What on Olympus made you think I wanted to put a custom clothing store in an old quick-bite seafood restaurant? You can't even say location. I won't believe you if you do."
Wait for it.
"I don't believe you."
Guess what he said? Glancing up from her phone call, Evie spots a familiar face and grins in silent thanks.
"Excuse me, Mr Keystone. I'm going to have to call you later." Without so much as a goodbye, Evie hangs up with a relieved sigh, eyes closed as she enjoys the moment before they open again and she's looking at her guest. "Has anyone ever told you that your timing is flawless?"
