Who: Mayday Parker
What: Working at the library
Where: The library
When: Tuesday the 18th
Synopsis: Come check out the library and meet May while you're there
The library wasn't necessarily the most natural job for May to get. She wasn't particularly quiet or studios and she wasn't super passionate about reading. She was pretty "meh" about all those things actually. What she was passionate about though was having enough money to buy things like food so she didn't starve to death.
Also she felt like if it became necessary to disappear for Super Hero Reasons™ then missing a shift at the library would be the least noticable.
So after some confusion about whether or not she was actually scheduled to work that day and seeing that she had A LOT of hours on the schedule that she'd have to talk to someone about she settled into her groove. Which was mostly putting books back on shelves. There was definitely a lot more to the job but that was the most basic part of the job that they had set her up with to start with.
That quickly also became helping people get logged into the computers, which she didn't mind. What she did mind were some of the questions patrons had. "Do you know the name of that book with the red cover?" "I read a book in 6th grade... I think a dog was in it? Do you know the one I'm talking about?" "I forgot what book I need to read for class but I know there's a movie about it, do you have the movie?"
May was pretty sure that librarians shushed everyone because they had dumb questions and didn't want to hear them. Still, most of the people coming in looking for help, dumb questions or not, were really nice. She even got to chit chat with a few of them about favorite books and it was cool seeing them get so excited.
When her shift was finally over she grabbed a random magazine off the shelf and collapsed into one of the chairs the library had. She needed just five minutes to clear her mind before she headed out.
"I really hope my fellow employees don't judge me for reading trash magazines in the library. Because I really need to read about... How To Power-Wash Your Junk. Yeah I should have looked at this magazine before I grabbed it..."
[ooc: Come visit May at the library! Be a patron asking a good or bad question, just chat her up about books you like, or talk to her after her shift.]
