End of the Long Winter.

The people of Driftcrest have so much to celebrate. Their loved ones have been returned to them, and the Unseen are well and truly and genuinely gone. Not only that, but a Winter that had been going on for years is finally ended and it's well and truly Summer. Flowers are blooming, there's color in the town that wasn't there before. People are happy. They have their freedom back, and are taking full advantage of it.

Now that there's no longer a curfew, the party can go well into the night with music, dancing, food of all kinds all over the place both set on tables and in various food trucks.

With the hammocks hung up in the area, along with portable ones available to purchase, and twinkling string lights threaded through the trees, the setting is peaceful. A far cry from the stress of the last few weeks.

There's music, both live and recorded, and an outdoor dance floor has been set up under some beautiful hanging lanterns and twinkling string lights. Once the sun goes down, there'll be fires set up for people to sit by and make s'mores.

All in all, this promises to be a memorable experience.

Grab some food, buy a hammock, find somewhere to celebrate because this party will go on for a while.

"I've had a lot of practice." Jean replies with a smile. "I had to keep on my toes back home, since I taught at a school for the gifted." She adds as she closes the distance between them.

"A school for the gifted, huh?" Miles grins a bit. "And by gifted you mean...like what you did just now?"

Jean lightly taps her nose and gives him a wink. "I'd say you are right on the nose. My mentor created the school to to teach and protect mutant children who were developing their powers." She explains with a slight sigh. It's only been a week and she already misses everyone back home.

He gives an impressed whistle. "That sounds pretty cool, actually."

While he didn't mind the way he'd been taught how to use his own powers, he could definitely see the merit of having some structured education.

"It could be. We did try to balance things between the standard education as well as helping with powers and abilities. Back home, people weren't as understanding about people with powers as they seem to be around here." She explains with a bit of a shrug. This was probably the most open she had been about her abilities even though she was publicly known as a mutant back home.

"Really? I'm sorry to hear that."

He hadn't really given that too much thought, to be honest. People knew about Spider-Man of course, and he was viewed as a hero by most people. But he did have his share of critics and haters.

"Unfortunately, not everyone understands people with powers and what they don't understand scares them." She replies a bit solemnly.

She could only imagine what was going to happen after the stunt Magneto pulled with reversing Cerebro back home. But there was nothing she could do to help from where she was currently located.

He nodded. "Yeah, I can kinda get that. Not really about...powers necessarily, but..." He shrugged a little, gesturing vaguely with a hand. It was kind of depressing to think about, that prejudice can exist in other worlds despite how different things can be.

Not really one of the things he wanted to keep the same between universes.

"It is pretty nice that the people here are pretty open to things, at least." After having to deal with the Unseen, though, he guessed that people with special abilities were pretty low on the list of the natives' worries.
