End of the Long Winter.

What: The entirety of Driftcrest and YOU! Even you new faces!
Where: The large park in the center of town.
When: From the 15th to the 18th
Warnings: Will warn as needed.

The people of Driftcrest have so much to celebrate. Their loved ones have been returned to them, and the Unseen are well and truly and genuinely gone. Not only that, but a Winter that had been going on for years is finally ended and it's well and truly Summer. Flowers are blooming, there's color in the town that wasn't there before. People are happy. They have their freedom back, and are taking full advantage of it.

Now that there's no longer a curfew, the party can go well into the night with music, dancing, food of all kinds all over the place both set on tables and in various food trucks.

With the hammocks hung up in the area, along with portable ones available to purchase, and twinkling string lights threaded through the trees, the setting is peaceful. A far cry from the stress of the last few weeks.

There's music, both live and recorded, and an outdoor dance floor has been set up under some beautiful hanging lanterns and twinkling string lights. Once the sun goes down, there'll be fires set up for people to sit by and make s'mores.

All in all, this promises to be a memorable experience.

Grab some food, buy a hammock, find somewhere to celebrate because this party will go on for a while.

Honestly, the sun hurt Kieran's eyes. It was something he'd quickly remedied by buying a pair of big dark sunglasses, but even then sometimes he squinted. He was tired as shit despite trying to shift his sleep schedule around and he was pretty sure it was just something he was going to have to deal with if he wanted to be up during the day.

The taco he was chowing down on wasn't going to do a thing for his hunger, but he'd worry about that later. When he felt up to stomaching the not-fresh blood that was provided to him if he felt like ordering some. He'd almost starved before even realizing that was an option, but now... he really missed blood bars.

"Working on your tan?" he asked, an edge of humor in his voice as he peered at Jace. Why hadn't Kieran thought of snagging a hammock for himself? He could even catch a nap that way.

"Not enough vitamin D." Jace sighed and opened one eye to look at Kieran before sitting up and rubbing the instinct to sleep from his eyes. "Nice glasses. How's that taco?"

He could use a nice liquid lunch himself, but he hadn't been able to drag himself back to the apartment. He was secretly hoping a certain Shadowhunter would show up.

"Thanks." He nodded. "Sun's really bright." Obviously. Or he wouldn't have been wearing the glasses. Captain obvious, at your service. "And it's delicious. It's been a while since I've had a taco this good." Or maybe it was so good because it'd been so long.

"I usually prefer parties in the evening-" wasn't that the typical party time, anyway? Unless you were having a barbeque or something. "-but this isn't bad, either."

"I'm not big on parties, but it is a celebration. It's difficult not to get caught up in everyone's relief and excitement. Defeat the monster and live free again."

Jace eyed the remnants of the taco being devoured and thought about trying something solid. Something he hadn't tasted in a long time. It was nice to remember what being human felt like. It was also torture. A hundred years wasn't long enough to let go of the past.

"I'm Jace."

Kieran shrugged a shoulder. "I love parties, but I'm a night owl." Which was as close as he was going to come to saying the truth. Probably. "I get that they're not for everyone, though." He couldn't imagine Avery at a party; he was a total wallflower.

"Kieran," he added. "Speaking of, those Unseen things were nasty. I might have nightmares about them."
