End of the Long Winter.

The people of Driftcrest have so much to celebrate. Their loved ones have been returned to them, and the Unseen are well and truly and genuinely gone. Not only that, but a Winter that had been going on for years is finally ended and it's well and truly Summer. Flowers are blooming, there's color in the town that wasn't there before. People are happy. They have their freedom back, and are taking full advantage of it.

Now that there's no longer a curfew, the party can go well into the night with music, dancing, food of all kinds all over the place both set on tables and in various food trucks.

With the hammocks hung up in the area, along with portable ones available to purchase, and twinkling string lights threaded through the trees, the setting is peaceful. A far cry from the stress of the last few weeks.

There's music, both live and recorded, and an outdoor dance floor has been set up under some beautiful hanging lanterns and twinkling string lights. Once the sun goes down, there'll be fires set up for people to sit by and make s'mores.

All in all, this promises to be a memorable experience.

Grab some food, buy a hammock, find somewhere to celebrate because this party will go on for a while.

Jace just smiles a little - no reason to give his softer side away too easily for anyone to see - and shakes his head. "You're one of those teenagers who hovers next to the wall of the gymnasium and watches everyone else dance and have fun, aren't you?"

He's seen a few movies. In every teen movie there is a dance and there is always an awkward teenager who is too terrified to talk or dance and usually they spill punch on themselves.

A vampire has lots of time to watch all of the movies, okay.

"Crowds not your thing, right? They're not my thing either. But I haven't had enough sunshine for the last hundred years so why don't we check out the trucks and try a little bit of everything."

Apparently, Peter's not nearly as subtle as he'd time to be and just shifts awkwardly when he gets called out. "Uh... no-no, I'm the kid that doesn't even go to the dance." He corrects. It was technically true-he started to go to homecoming but then stuff happened and that was the end of that plan. There was also Liz's party that he was there for like two seconds.

"N-no, not usually." He admits to not liking crowds. "I-I really just came out to see things and get-um-get food."

"How much food do you think you can carry?" Jace asks, gently redirecting the kid towards more food trucks. They can load up and find a quiet place for the kid to unwind. he looks tense.

"I've never been shy, it sounds painful. Parties have never been my thing. Too prissy and fake, everyone smiling and making small talk. Vampire parties are the worst. All they do is drink."

That's a joke, Peter.

"I'm not shy." Peter denies as he allows Jace to redirect him. "I just just kinda nervous around new people." He states, picking at the sleeve of his shirt. Definitely not shy. Nothing about him says he's shy. Aside from everything about him.

"I-I don't really go to parties. I mean I did once but I uh had leave and it wasn't fun." Made all the worse by Flash singling him out like he had.

"Do you have friends back home?" Jace asked casually, doing his best to help ease the anxiety he could practically feel rolling off the kid. It had a scent, like a lot of things, faint in the way the body reacted to emotions which altered the scent of blood just enough to be noticeable.
