End of the Long Winter.

The people of Driftcrest have so much to celebrate. Their loved ones have been returned to them, and the Unseen are well and truly and genuinely gone. Not only that, but a Winter that had been going on for years is finally ended and it's well and truly Summer. Flowers are blooming, there's color in the town that wasn't there before. People are happy. They have their freedom back, and are taking full advantage of it.

Now that there's no longer a curfew, the party can go well into the night with music, dancing, food of all kinds all over the place both set on tables and in various food trucks.

With the hammocks hung up in the area, along with portable ones available to purchase, and twinkling string lights threaded through the trees, the setting is peaceful. A far cry from the stress of the last few weeks.

There's music, both live and recorded, and an outdoor dance floor has been set up under some beautiful hanging lanterns and twinkling string lights. Once the sun goes down, there'll be fires set up for people to sit by and make s'mores.

All in all, this promises to be a memorable experience.

Grab some food, buy a hammock, find somewhere to celebrate because this party will go on for a while.

Peter was going to just take a bite but while he's enhanced and has powers that make him more resistant to things there is one thing he is very much not resistant too-well two really, Peer Pressure and Impressing people. Especially if he happens to really like the person.

"Oh yeah?" He grins at her. "Challenge accepted." He states before just... trying to horf the the whole taco in his mouth. Which he does manage.

BUT.

He quickly discovers that he can't really chew it with how much food is now in his mouth. Whoops.

In a heartbeat it all goes wrong. Or, at least, she assumes it has when Peter doesn't swallow. Gone is her short-lived amusement, and in its wake is mild (for now!) panic that is so very clearly written across her face.

"Peter?" She asks, trying her best to remain calm and not freak out. "You don't have to swallow it, okay? Please don't try to swallow it to like prove a point or something and end up choking."

Unless...

"Are you choking? I know the heimlich if you are. Just, I dunno, point to your throat, okay?"

If he choked at this point it would be his own fault for being a dumbass. Why did he decide to do this? This is not going well-not only is his mouth far too full for him to chew much but it's also on fire thanks to the molten lava salsa he decided the taco needed.

He's not choking exactly. He can still breath through his nose and all but he can't do much else. He'd try to tell her he's fine but he can't get the words around the giant taco. Why is he like this? What is he supposed to do? Spit it out in front of her? That's gross. She'd never like him then. Can he spit it out? Very slowly he makes an attempt to chew after a quick shake of his head.

His fault? No. No! Totally not his fault. This is all on her for putting the challenge out there in the first place while knowing full well how dumb boys can be. Even ones as smart as Peter can be incredibly dumb. Sorry, Peter!

And while she can't reverse time to right her wrong, she can, at least, keep Peter from choking. Potentially choking since he doesn't seem to be choking at the moment. Right? He's shaking his head. Is he shaking it because he's not choking? Or is he shaking it because he isn't sure? Oh, god. She has no clue! For all she knows he might be trying to play it cool, like he's got this. When, in fact, he doesn't got ― have this. And if she just lets him continue being dumb...

"Hold still, okay?" She's already behind him as soon as the last word is out. One arm coming around his chest for support, her other pulled up and back behind him. If he lets her, and if he doesn't move, she'll deliver a few blows to his back in hopes he can spit it out. She can't like him if he's dead, right? Better to be gross than dead, Peter.
