End of the Long Winter.

What: The entirety of Driftcrest and YOU! Even you new faces!
Where: The large park in the center of town.
When: From the 15th to the 18th
Warnings: Will warn as needed.

The people of Driftcrest have so much to celebrate. Their loved ones have been returned to them, and the Unseen are well and truly and genuinely gone. Not only that, but a Winter that had been going on for years is finally ended and it's well and truly Summer. Flowers are blooming, there's color in the town that wasn't there before. People are happy. They have their freedom back, and are taking full advantage of it.

Now that there's no longer a curfew, the party can go well into the night with music, dancing, food of all kinds all over the place both set on tables and in various food trucks.

With the hammocks hung up in the area, along with portable ones available to purchase, and twinkling string lights threaded through the trees, the setting is peaceful. A far cry from the stress of the last few weeks.

There's music, both live and recorded, and an outdoor dance floor has been set up under some beautiful hanging lanterns and twinkling string lights. Once the sun goes down, there'll be fires set up for people to sit by and make s'mores.

All in all, this promises to be a memorable experience.

Grab some food, buy a hammock, find somewhere to celebrate because this party will go on for a while.

Jace couldn't help the slightly disappointed frown as he sat up and studied Alec. Down to his toes and right back up to his eyes. Not at all trying to hide the fact that he was taking him all in.

"How did you know?" Not that any Shadowhunter couldn't figure it out if they were experienced enough dealing with vampires. But they hadn't actually gotten around to meeting until now so he was curious what it was that gave him away. "I had fair skin before I was turned so that can't be it."

He stood up and stretched as if he had actually been sleeping even if he had mostly just been enjoying the sunshine and listening to everything around him.

"Seeing you in action is far more impressive."

A few months ago, that look would have left him flustered and ready to retreat. Now he arched an eyebrow, expecting some come on instead of the question that Jace asked. It made him pause, considering which reasons would make the most sense. "I've been around vampires since I was thirteen. They didn't visit the Institute often, but it happened enough that I could pick up the signs that they taught us."

He wasn't going to tell anyone that he might have had a slight infatuation with one of those vampires. It was bad enough that Izzy knew about that. He wasn't going to let it become common knowledge.

"My sister dated a vampire. A daylighter. So I know it's possible for a vampire to be out in the sun." But none of those were whole reason why he'd known. After a beat, he finally added. "My parabatai looks like you. I know what your coloration would be if you weren't a vampire."

He almost flushed at the compliment. Comments about his looks were easy to dismiss, especially if Izzy or Jace was nearby, but ones about his combat skills were more rare. More important now since ones based on the physical reminded him of Magnus. "Uh - thank you?"

"The strange thing I'm not sure I am a daylighter." Jace admitted examining his arms in the sunlight. He had thought about it a lot and as much as he enjoyed sunbathing there were moments right before he stepped out into the daylight where he felt the fear of what might happen.

"Your family doesn't sound like typical Shadowhunters. I hear they don't take Warlock marks as trophies anymore, but the few I've met aren't as friendly as you and your sister."

He crossed his arms and watched Alec with curiosity and interest, "It must be difficult being separated from your parabatai. Can you feel him at all?"

"So something here keeps you from being hurt by the sun?" He wondered if whatever magic had brought them here did similar things to other Downworlders. Did werewolves have to shift? Would warlocks still have their marks? He assumed that they did since Jace seemed to have other vampire abilities. "It didn't change your - uh - diet, did it?"

Not that he really wanted to think about what Jace might having for dinner, or who he might be getting dinner from.

He almost winced, thinking of Magnus and his beautiful eyes. Some Shadowhunter in the past had probably wanted to make a trophy out of his warlock's mark. "The older generation is. My parents were a part of some bad things." That was an understatement, but he didn't really want to discuss Valentine or think about what had happened a few months ago. "We're the black sheep of the Clave."

Heroes, but still black sheep.

Automatically, his hand went to his parabatai rune. "I know he's there, but he's far away. I know he's alive and he's not hurt." Pausing, he gave Jace a thoughtful look. "How do you know about parabatai? We don't really advertise things related to the bond."
