Who: Peter and Loki
Where: The Apartment
When: June 24th
What: Powers are lost, that means Asthma and Glasses.

Peter had been asleep, curled into a twin sized bed with a book about Astro-physics open and pressed against his face. He’d fallen asleep well into the early hours of the morning. He’s violently yanked out of his mostly pleasant dreams when the first glitch hits. It almost feels like being hit by a truck and it has him sitting up quickly and trying to piece together what just happened. He squints around the room and picks up on the fact everything looks like blurry blobs.

“Wh-what the hell?” He asks, rubbing his eyes, feeling a terribly familiar feeling at his chest. “No, no. Nonono.” Rubbing his eyes did nothing and everything is still blurry. “Shit! No, this can’t happen.” He takes in a sharp breath and reaches blindly for the nightstand in hopes that his glasses will magically be there. They’re not.

He takes in another sharp breath, feeling his chest restrict the tiniest bit. “Oh god..” he breathes, still blindly searching. He needs to calm down. Panicking isn’t gonna help him find his glasses and what is he supposed to do until he gets new ones? Sit on the couch all day? And why does his head hurt?

Another sharp breath of air but it feels more like a gasp. It doesn’t feel like his lungs are inflated at all. Forget the glasses, where’s an Inhaler? He coughs and wheezes harshly as he moves to his suitcase and starts pulling everything out in desperate hope he still had his inhaler with him somewhere. The quick movements cost him though as now it really feels like he can’t breathe.

"Right." Frowning for a moment, calculating precisely how far it was to the hospital and realizing he had no earthly idea other than a vague direction, he nods. He may not be in possession of his gifts, but he's still a fit man who's trained in combat most of his life, and Peter was small. He picks him up. "Right then, let's see to you."

It is a blur once they arrive, between check-in, admittance, and the like. Once they have him stabilized, once they're waiting for some sort of release paperwork, Peter's new guardian is permitted in the room with him. It's evident this entire ordeal is beyond his depth as he looks around the sterile room apprehensively.

"So. This is your healthcare." It's barbaric in comparison to that afforded by Asgardian healers.

He frowned at the young man's comment, nonplussed, but also uncertain he'd be inclined to pay such a ridiculous amount for required care. Humans really were some of the greediest creatures in existence. His frown only deepened when the lad continued, though he could tell his further commentary was to himself.

"Again? You've made a habit of this before?"

"Such things shouldn't be temporary." If his knowledge of human anatomy was accurate. It may not have been, his knowledge in that arena was fairly limited, though he realized he would have to change that if he was responsible for the boy. He didn't mind, but Peter didn't need to know that.

"I understand all those 'conditions' of yours should be debilitating and permanent. Why are you they not?"

He gazes at Peter for a moment, a placidly amused expression on his face before it breaks into a grin and he laughs.

"Are you trying to deceive me, Peter? That's hilarious. We seem to have all the time in the world."

"A...radioactive spider." He sounds disbelieving, which is also the most honest he's sounded in recent days, and eyebrow raised. "Given your current situation, I would sooner believe that would kill you."

"Well, I won't inform Mr. Osborn if you won't." Loki was one who could see conspiracies everywhere, it came from spinning so many of his own over the years he would wager, but he got the distinct impression this Mr. Osborne was directly or indirectly responsible for this oddly powerful spider.

"I've never known a spider to cure poor eyesight or a weak constitution." That wasn't to say he didn't believe the boy, of course.

"Annoying as it sounds, it likely has its uses as well." As did the sticking to walls and the possession of 'super strength'. He wondered if it was near the strength of an Asgardian, but now was certainly not the time to test that particular question.

"It's fascinating, certainly, but the occurrence also beggers questions: what was a radioactive spider doing there in the first place?"

"Of course you did."

He arched an eyebrow at the boy's tale. It wasn't exactly surprising, learning the lad had used this newfound power to protect others. He knew who Loki was, most likely his brother, and the other Avengers. "Heros" indeed.

"And who is Mr. Osborne?"

"Scientists with questionable motives creating dangerous specimens when they know little of what to expect from the outcome. Where have I heard that before?"

He shook his head. Mortals really did get involved with things best left to their betters more often than not.

"And what's been done about this Oscorp Industries?"
