THE BATMAN.

The Bat has been active - more so than when Fluxscape had been apart of Wechester City. There's more of a need now. There is a threat. While the Bat may not be the hero for these people as he is in Gotham City? The need to solve the pressing questions of Driftcrest call for his attention. A few have already seen the towering figure of the Batman on the rooftops of the town and the skii lodge.

This is exactly where you can find him now.

The Bat - and therefore Bruce Wayne - had been forced to adjust his idea on the scope of reality some time ago. The Superman and the Kryptonians. Then, an Amazon Princess. A cyborg, metahumans. In a way it seemed like too much. Sometimes he wondered if he had really gone crazy. Or, maybe, the world was always crazy, and now he was simply seeing how truly crazy it was.

If anything? It made the adjustments for Fluxscape - this weird blending of realities - easier to process. Especially the potential idea of someone else from another Gotham. Hopefully it wouldn't be as strange as when he spoke to Gansey or Evie. Given he was fairly sure they knew the alter identity and simply kept mum about it.

The Batman sat on the top of a rooftop of the skii resort. His eyes slowly moved over the snow as they had thousands of times already. They were looking - hunting. The first generation of Waynes were hunters. This couldn't be any different.

BRUCE WAYNE.

For those looking for Bruce Wayne? Well, he can be in a place of your choosing. He has been a bit more lax on his duties at Wechester Enterprises. Of course, he'd be honest, if asked. He sees himself as the in between for Mr. Wechester and the people who flux in and out. Which means he needs to be out and about more in the locations to be able to give better reports. A way for him to be a bit of a face to build trust on both ends.

Being a CEO would be easier.

Bruce has taken to the back of a local coffee shop. He has a workshirt on as opposed to his regular suit. It might look like a down day for him. If it wasn't for the fact he has one sleeve rolled up and is looking over the very particular interesting wound. There is a reason he is hiding in the back looking at this. It started to itch - usually that means its healing. Instead, he swears it is actually being iced over.

Sure, why the hell not.

Reality broke a long time ago.

Now that he was closer, he could see that the man was wounded. And somehow, his Spider-senses were going off even stronger than before.

"What happened? Are you okay?"

He couldn't tell much about the injury itself, other than there was something along the edges of it...was that ice?

He could only think of one way to get an injury like that right now...

"Looks like I went down the alley on the way home last night." Bruce replied with a practiced smile, gesturing to the wound. "I figured it was best not to alert the local population."

It was definitely turning into something like ice.

His frown and concern deepens, and he leans a little against the nearest chair to get a better look a the wound. "You were out after curfew?"

There's something about the act that he isn't buying, and he isn't sure if those are his Spider-senses or just a gut feeling.

"I think we're all out after curfew sometimes." Bruce replies easily. "Can't help it when meetings run late."

It's as good of an excuse as any. Maybe even realistic or believable. Until it comes into the fact that he should have gone to the medical professionals to look at the injury. Although, he imagines there would of been a panic if that had happened.

It was definitely a reasonable excuse, for sure. But something about it doesn't feel right, and he has no idea why.

But not sure what else to say about it right now, he looks at the man's wound again. "Have you gotten that looked at yet?"

At that, he shakes his head. This time the truth. "I haven't wanted to alert the local population. Something tells me they'll want to out me as a leper. Lock me up and throw away the key kind of thing."

Which is something he obviously isn't too keen on happening.

"Have you seen anyone else with wounds like this?"

He hesitated a little; he didn't think Gwen had given any indication in her post that her injuries were related to her being Ghost Spider, but he still needed to be careful.

"Yeah...one of my friends has a similar injury. She was just told not to try warming it up, but they didn't try outing her or anything."

His head tilted at that. Call him paranoid and old--he was both things. "Why shouldn't we heat it up?"

"It's not a regular ice injury. It'll go away on its own, hopefully, but it doesn't melt like regular ice. So trying to heat it up only makes it worse."

Which he had definitely heard plenty of from Gwen, so he had a bit of experience.

As he spoke, there was a bit of a rustle in his backpack, and when he carefully adjusted the bag there was a muffled 'meow' from inside.

"I wasn't aware there was a regular ice injury." Bruce gave him a small smirk and quirk up of his eyebrows. Though, ice that spread with a reaction to warmth? Interesting.

A pause.

"Do you have a pet cat?"

Miles smirked right back. "Isn't that what frostbite is?"

He hesitated just a bit even as he carefully unzipped his backpack. "Uh, yeah." He considered lying, especially since Arachnid was sometimes seen with a cat (in a mask, of course), but it was better that he didn't, as O'Malley popped his head out of the bag at that moment to look up at him with another "Mroww."

"Tissue damage, technically. Brought on by freezing temperatures." Bruce gave him a tight smirk to bring some humor into the conversation. His eyes went down to the small animal. An eyebrow raised before he looked back at Miles. "Did he come with you? Or, did you find him here?"

He shrugged a little. "Freezing is still involved, so I count it."

It was a pretty morbid topic, though, so he didn't mind just focusing on his cat.

"Found the little guy here. He actually followed me home."

Morbid was just apart of the job in Bruce's eyes. After so many years in Gotham, things became almost normalized. He had seen his fair share of disturbing.

"Does he have a name?"

Miles smiled a little, gently scratching the top of the cat's head. "Alley O'Malley. Someone around here actually helped me come up with the name. Or just O'Malley for short."

As he readjusted his hold on the bag, making sure that O'Malley was comfortable, he also carefully tucked away something a little red and blue back inside.

"Sounds like something out of an old cartoon movie." Bruce shrugged. Or, maybe he really was just that old. He stopped watching those sort of things after his parents passed. It was... harder to see how good things could be for a time. "Hopefully he doesn't like coffee."

Miles snickered a little. "Actually, the girl who helped me said she had just seen a movie about cats, and if it's the movie I'm thinking of, then it probably is an older cartoon."

O'Malley meowed loudly, and looked ready to jump onto the table, but Miles carefully tucked him back down. "Nah, he's not much for coffee. Though he actually likes apple juice."

"One by Disney?" Bruce offered as he looked back at the cat. He never had any pets. Maybe a goldfish when he was younger, but, nothing since his parents died. It was a wonder he even adopted people to begin with. "Apple juice? that's unexpected."

"That's the one." Miles had always thought himself more of a dog person himself, but honestly, how was he supposed to say no to this face? "And yeah, that surprised me too. But apparently apple juice is better than milk for cats anyway? So at least it doesn't hurt 'im."
