WHO: Fulton and YOU
WHAT: arrivals, settling in, general mayhem
WHERE: all over!
WHEN: nowish and his first few days
WARNINGS: depends on how things go, I'll keep this updated if needed.
Fulton wanders the place when he arrives, confused as hell. This has to be a dream, right? Mad Max shit, the way everything looks, but he pinches the inside of his elbow and nothing changes. Weird.
A guy at a booth waves him over, and he looks over at him as he heads that way with no small amount of suspicion. Adults are pretty iffy at best, he learned that early, but the guy smiles and pushes something at him and rambles about a Guardian then gives him a couple cookies, like it makes any kind of sense. But he takes them anyway, stuffs the envelope in his pocket for later only to find something already in there, so he waves absently and stalks off, working through the first cookie while he looks the thing over. Kind of like a phone, only smaller, but he at least knows how phones work. The screen blares into life, colors and tinned music, and he almost walks into somebody, mumbling an apology as he looks up, a twist of regret in his expression before he keeps moving.
The Caldera's at least familiar, and he heads there once he finds where he's supposed to be living and digs out his rollerblades, stick, and puck from a box. None of the Ducks are here, but that's....okay. It will be, it'll have to be, so he skates around, tries to work on his skills there, shoots the puck around a few times.
He gets in a fight with one of the locals, over something stupid, walks away with a split lip and a black eye before somebody manages to intervene and pull him off. It's fine. It's all fine, everything is fine./cut>

Two hours after their initial thread:
It was just Adam being Adam.
That was fine. Tabatha would ignore the teasing and head out with her head held high, should Adam actually be in Haven and trying to tease her.
But as far as Tabs knew, she was the only Stephens in Haven. So she left her house on Morning Glory Circle, left a plate of chicken piccata for her guardian and a note saying she’ll be back later and Tabatha went off to meet with Fulton.
And if anyone were to point out it looked like she put effort into her appearance? She really didn’t. Much.
Her hair was set in a double French braid and pinned to keep off her neck, and she found a good pair of dark green shorts and white tank top to wear, considering it was still hot even with the suns setting soon, and she really was digging the sturdy pair of black boots she’d zapped up for herself. But this wasn’t effort. This was trying to not die from heat stroke.
As she headed towards the market section of Haven, Tank followed close behind.
The solid black Devil Dog with bright red eyes really wasn’t keen on letting Tabatha out of his sight. Not for a second. Not outside the house, but that wasn’t why she’d taken him with her.
She wasn’t sure Johnny was fond of the odd creature. So now there was a red haired witch, waiting at the entrance of the merchant section, small creature hiding behind her as they waited for Fulton.

So he tied his hair back and made sure his shirt was still clean and headed off, smiling self-consciously when he saw the girl standing there waiting for him.
"Hey."

But having friends helps, so when she hears Fulton speak, she turns towards him and grind. That is absolutely her mother’s most charming grin on her face. Warm. Open. All that fun.
“Hey!” she responds, giving him a small wave before heading over. “Fulton, right?”
no subject
Super weird. He doesn't really trust it, like there's some prank just waiting to be sprung.
"You actually came," he continues, clearly surprised by it. He hasn't noticed the pitch black critter lurking at her side, but he'll get there.
no subject
Fulton's behavior has her concerned, and wondering if maybe she did something. But when he expresses surprise that she showed up, Tabatha expresses alarm at that reaction.
"Do people have a tendency to not show up when they say they'll hang out with you? Because that's awful."
No, no. Tabatha is not that person at all.
no subject
"My friends do. But, you know. You just met me. They've known me for a few years."
no subject
Still, what an awful thing to do, not show up when you tell someone you will.
"If my mother were here, she'd say something along the lines of...the whole point of meeting with someone new is to get to know them. Old friends are all well and good, but new ones can be just as valued. Or...something. She was a lot better at that than I."
A shrug and a half smile, maybe even just a bit sad. She's close with her mother and misses her dearly.
"Okay, so...I will always show up when I say I will. You can count on that. If I can't, I'll let you know. And if I don't show without any manner of contact, something's wrong."
How's that, Fulton.
no subject
"Whatever. You don't have to get weird about it. So...what are we gonna do?"
no subject
"Sorry. Okay...so...this place is pretty colorless during the day, right? We're going to watch what happens when the sun goes down."
Just trust her, Fulton. It'll be fine.
"Have you ever seen the Aurora Borealis?"
no subject
"No. Is it really that special?"
no subject
"I stayed up late the first three nights I was here, watching the Aurora and waiting to see when it ended. Never really made it past three or four am." It just kept going, and she kept watching from where she'd zapped herself to the roof of her house. She's pretty sure actually climbing up there would alert her guardian to what she was doing, and she didn't want to wake him.
"It's not something I've ever seen before, except in photographs. Photos don't do it justice at all."
no subject
He's not convinced, but she's nice so far, and cute, and doesn't seem to have decided he's not worth her time yet, so he continues to follow her all the same.
"People say that a lot," he counters, but at least there's more of a tease in his words this time.
no subject
"They do, but I'm inclined to believe them. Just this once." Turning to face him and carefully walking backwards as she does so, she tucks her hands in her back pockets and gives him a semi-flirty smirk. "Just...trust me. We just met a couple hours ago, and I probably haven't given you a reason to do so just yet. I just want this one thing. If you don't like it, we'll go do something else. Okay?"
no subject
"Yeah, okay. Sure. If it's not as good as you say, we'll go on the craziest ride they've got here."
no subject
It’s not that she can understand Tank, but it’s not all that hard to infer what he wants. Not for the witch, anyway. So she crouches, balancing on her toes some.
“Foods nearby. I know. You already ate before we left, Tank. But…maybe we’ll see if someone has apples or something.” An excited snort from the three legged devil dog and Tabs looks up at Fulton.
“Okay. My plan is to get food and then there’s this rock formation just at the border. Far enough away from the busier part of Haven. I think it’s be good to take food there and watch the aurora.”
Moving into Serenity
River peeks around the doorway while she watches the new boy unpack his things in the bunk they gave him. "Welcome. Are you from Earth?"
no subject
But he ducks into the bunk he's directed to, carefully looks through his things and hides them away out of sight, all but jumping when the voice interrupts, quick to stash things even quicker, like it's somehow important she not see them.
"...hey. Uh, yeah."
no subject
"My name is River. I live here, too. Serenity has been my home for a while now. I'm glad to have her here."
no subject
"That's the name of the ship? Serenity?"
