OPEN
Who: Everyone and anyone
What: Grand Opening/Gathering post fun
Where: Pour Judgement - Jessica's bar
When: 6-14 night
Pour Judgement is officially open!
Sure, Jessica has been at the bar pretty much every day since receiving the key and has been letting people hang out if they had stopped by but now is the grand opening. Everyone who wants to come in will be allowed to do so since the staff is in place and they are full up on everything they need. Drinks are cheaper, the music is playing, and there is even a dance floor if anyone is so inclined.
For the most part, Jessica is milling about just keeping an eye on things. She will be behind the bar if the bartenders need help or she can be found at one of the corner booths nearby. Mostly, she just wants everyone to have a good time. Except for anyone looking to cause trouble. Those people won't have a good time at all.
[ Go ahead, post your people, and tag around! If you want Jessica, I will have a thread for her below. Feel free to find her anywhere in the bar. ]

Jessica - OTA
Gwen - OTA
People don't stay dead. The creatures were weird. Gravity was odd.
And the people of Haven don't trust the fluxed-ins. So Gwen is here as bar back. Carrying heavy objects to keep her coworkers stocked, and keeping an eye on the patrons.
But please feel free to find her anywhere. Catch her on break. Catch her carrying a keg or box of liquor to the bartenders. She'll be okay with talking to people.

Never mind that she’d just set down a crate that left a thunk as if it weighed triple what she might. Gravity was weird in Haven, it could be a fluke.
Diego stood his ground with a stern look while watching her.

"I'm Gwen. Bar-back," she states after a bit, smiling a half-smile.
And she disappears behind the counter to continue putting things away, peeking up at Diego a moment later.
"Good lookin' out, though. There are a couple local teenagers who might try to sneak in. They suck at just all things life-related," she says with a beleaguered sigh. These aforementioned teenagers have clearly been the bane of her existence for a while. "If they come in, I'll point them out. You can glare at them."

“Well, Gwen Barback, I’m Diego Hargreeves. Jessica hired me to work security. And as long as I don’t catch you sampling any of the merchandise or passing any to your friends, we’ll be the best of friends.”
Yet her words about pointing out delinquents scored points with him. He gave her a nod. “Are they just typical little shits or assholes who pick on you?"

Re: Gwen - OTA
"Jeez, kid, you're gonna break your fucking back doing that. Don't they have somebody else to do that shit?"
Re: Gwen - OTA
Shaking her head at Johnny, she sets up the keg she'd carried in to transfer, speaking to Johnny as she does so.
"I got it. Thank you, though."
Re: Gwen - OTA
He continues to look at her incredulously, half skeptical and half impressed in spite of himself.

Diego Hargreeves | The Umbrella Academy | OTA
He stood in the corner, not easy to see since he was dressed all in black in the predominantly red and black bar. Club. Diego couldn’t stand the idea of kids being allowed to hang out in a bar. At least there were clubs that allowed under twenty-one so he mentally considered Pour Judgment one of them. As security, he’d make sure of that.
Anyone who looked underage would get hassled about what they were drinking if they had drinks in hand. Anyone of age who got too rowdy or the bartender indicated was past their limit, would find themselves tossed out by him.
Not the most congenial type but Diego might hold a conversation depending on how someone strikes it up. However, he won’t take his eyes off the club even if engaged in conversation.

She moved to lean against the wall beside him as she let her gaze sweep over the bar, noting all the people and the fact that things seemed to be going well at the moment. Reaching behind, she pulled a flask from her back pocket, switching her gaze to the dance floor while she twisted off to the top so she could take a drink.
"So, catch many underage drinkers so far?" She was going to think not since everyone was keeping a pretty close eye on that concern but maybe one or two had slipped through.
no subject
“Not yet,” he answered about catching anyone underage drinking. “You need a flask when you have a whole bar? —Club.” The correction was immediate, eyes returning to the floor. His words and demeanor weren’t warm and friendly unlike the bartender who nearly rivaled Luther in size.
He wondered how his siblings were doing. There hadn’t been any sign of anyone else arriving and Diego had performed a number of patrols. Eventually he might try the network but wasn’t in a rush to blow his cover just in case anyone from his world also popped through in the time jump.
no subject
She made her point by sliding the flask into her back pocket again with a smirk. "Also, you might as well give up on trying to call it a club now."
It didn't seem to bother her if his words and demeanor weren't warm and friendly. It seemed she was more comfortable with him than most people but maybe that was because she wasn't really known for being warm or friendly either. Plus she figured she would cramp her bartenders' style if she hung around while they were working.
"Penny for your thoughts," she said suddenly, tearing her gaze from the bar to look at him again.

Lydia - OTA
Dressed in black and white checkered dress that showed off a fair bit of leg, a pair of heels, and a leather jacket to complete the ensemble, Lydia felt she looked good. Not overly dressy but she figured it was a good bar outfit.
After her arrival, she sat on one of the stools at the bar, ordered herself a drink, and then simply enjoyed the atmosphere. Also, she was having a great time checking out one of the bartenders.
Closed to Shadow
At least Lydia did her best not to distract Shadow too much while he was working but she was enjoying herself as she watched him. He had an easy charm about him and he seemed to be having fun.
But just because she was trying not to distract him too much didn't mean she wouldn't do it once in a while. So at one point, when he made his way over, she slipped her jacket off and let her rest around her waist before she leaned forward with a flirtatious smirk resting on her berry-colored lips.
"You know, if all the bartenders are as cute as you are, I might have to spend a lot of time here," She couldn't resist teasing him a little even though they both knew full well she only had eyes for him.
no subject
He's nursing a whiskey when a young woman sits down two stools over from him. Malcolm smiles politely at her, but doesn't start a conversation. He's not the type to hit up a woman at a bar.
Instead, he observes her for a little while. She doesn't notice because her eyes are on one of the bartenders, watching everywhere he goes and every drink he makes. Eventually, Malcolm just has to make a comment. He leans over, so she'll know he's talking to her.
"You know, most people don't come to bars to pick up the bartender."
no subject
But she isn't so distracted that she doesn't notice when she is being watched. At one point she glances at the man who is sitting a couple of stools away but he seems to be looking elsewhere when she does. So she switches her focus back to her drink, taking another sip of the tart liquor when she realizes that he is leaning close to talk to her.
His comment makes her laugh a bit which she suppresses somewhat by pressing her lips together, drawing out the hint of a smirk dotted by a small dimple when she looks at her. "No? I thought that was kind of the popular thing to do. As if it were a challenge or something."

Nick - OTA
After getting himself a beer, he found an empty booth and sat on the side watching the dance floor. He couldn't help but think then that Hank and the others would like this place. He could almost see Monroe and Rosalee sitting across from him, laughing and talking in their own animated way. Wu would be involved too, talking and watching everything.
Juliette...
He clenched his jaw as he made himself stop right there, his fingers tightening around his bottle of beer while he took a moment just to breathe through the sudden surge of anger mingled with everything else he felt. Then he blew out a breath and made himself take a long pull of beer from the bottle. There was nothing he could do about all of that right now. All he could do was sit back and enjoy himself.
no subject
But she thirsts, and so she orders a beer from the bar and is handed a bottle. Intriguing. She sits, noticing a moment too late that she seems to have invaded the table of someone else.
"Forgive me, friend. I had not realized this table was occupied. Would you perhaps enjoy some company?"
no subject
"Actually, I probably would," He tells her, welcoming the distraction from his thoughts going on a downward spiral. Then he leans across just enough to offer a hand to her. "I'm Nick."

And sometimes if she’s sliding someone their drink across the bar before they’ve ordered it, well, she doubts anyone will notice. It doesn’t look much out of the ordinary.
She’s on break when she spots him. Sitting by himself in a booth with a beer. And oh, Zoey knows that look. Knows it all too well. Recognizes the clench of a jaw and tightening of a hand around a beer bottle. He’s thinking too much and trying to distract himself. Fortunately she happens to be on that aforementioned break, and can help on that front. So she knocks back the rest of her drink and strolls over to where he’s seated. She holds out her hand and gives him a playful smile.
“Come on. Dance with me.”
no subject
But he still isn't expecting her to come over to his table and definitely not to do so asking for a dance. It leaves him blinking at her for a second or two as it registers what she is asking for before he offers a small quirk of a smile.
"I don't dance a lot," He protests somewhat weakly.

Higgs Monaghan | Death Stranding | OTA
It's why he's still in his full-body covering armor, hood up in the bar.
But, despite the... er, aesthetic... he's perfectly polite. "Ain't been in one of these before. Seen 'em in old movies, but that's about it."
Sure, he looks more than a little strange, but given the ragtag group of people who seem to show up without warning, maybe hat's not too much of a surprise. "I saw a movie about time-travel or somethin' like that. It had this big, dramatic scene in a bar."
no subject
They've been avoiding each other for ages now, it feels like. Maybe fate, or the town, or something has decided to bring them together. "Time travel sounds right up your alley," he comments drily.
no subject
He doubt it's of any interest to Sam, though. Sam doesn't strike him as a fiction-enjoying person, never has.

Re: Higgs Monaghan | Death Stranding | OTA
But she's absolutely all ears, Higgs.

He sits up a little, apparently entirely here for talking about movies, especially the way his eyes light up. "Okay, so, one night, this guy is looking through the closet of his family home and comes across a box containing this old radio communication device. Forget what it's called." He does look a little frustrated at that, but he moves on quickly enough.
"He turns it on and finds himself talking to his father thirty years in the past. Thing is, his dad is dead. Died rescuing a teenager in a fire thirty years on the dot tomorrow."
Yes, he is a sci-fi nerd despite what the weird armor might indicate about him being some sort of edgelord. "He realizes this. Warns his dad in the past about the fire, and what went wrong. Fast forward to the big, sad, day, where the guy, his friend, and the guy's boss, who was a friend of his father, are all in a bar. There to celebrate his dad's life.
"Only, things start to change. In the past, the dad realizes his future son had been telling the truth, and the future changes, with him surviving the fire. The son is overcome with emotion upon getting his new set of memories along with keeping his old ones, and drops his glass to the floor, alarming his buddies."
Does he talk too much? Absolutely, but he looks incredibly happy to be talking about fiction.
